We’re currently looking for new trustees!

Grey Lynn 2030 is a vibrant and active group, currently involved in multiple projects centred around sustainability and waste reduction.  We’d love to hear from you if you have an interest or passion for sustainability, community engagement and grass roots change making.

We are looking for new Trustees, in particular (but not limited to) a new Treasurer.  This year will be a busy one for Grey Lynn 2030 as many exciting new projects are starting.

We’ve been part of the local community since 2008, officially becoming a Trust in 2011. We are modelled on the Transition Towns movement, which works on the belief that communities have within themselves the innovation and ingenuity to create positive solutions to the converging crises of our time.

Our goals include minimising the waste within our community, maintaining a
positive vision and encouraging practical action as well as promoting and engaging in building neighbourhood spirit and cooperation.

Our current activities focus largely around waste reduction and resource recovery.  Our current primary project, being run together with Earth Action Trust,
is to set up a Trial Resource Recovery Centre during the first part of 2017. We also run a monthly car boot market, a stall at the local Farmers Market and run
various initiatives throughout the year including Plastic Bag Free July activities.

We have an sub-group called Waste Away that focuses particularly on waste minimisation projects.  Our Waste Away Group is also looking for new members. We meet monthly to discuss and plan our initiatives and are currently actively involved in the activities around the Resource Recovery Centre trial.

If you are passionate about the environment and keen to be active in your local community of Grey Lynn, then do contact us for more information on
