Auckland Council Annual Plan 2025/2026
The proposed Auckland Council Annual Plan 2025/2026 received 13,000 pieces of feedback from Aucklanders. This plan is for the next financial year. The proposed Annual Plan 2025/2026 focuses on delivering the second year of the Long-term Plan 2024-2034 and included opportunity to consider the funding of events and destination marketing, and priorities of local boards

Analysis of the feedback shows support for the overall Annual Plan 2025/2026 proposal, including the bed night visitor levy concept
Feedback on the Waitemata Local Board plan is separate to this.
- 27 per cent support all of the proposed plan
- 45 per cent support most of the plan
- 15 per cent did not support most of it
- 7 per cent do not support any of the plan
- 6 per cent don’t know.

The bed night visitor levy
A possible bed night visitor levy to help fund destination marketing and events was supported by 60 per cent of individuals who responded on the issue; 27 per cent do not support it; and 13 per cent submitted ‘other’ or ‘don’t know’.
- 24 per cent of these cited the need for improved public transport and its funding
- 19 per cent shared concerns on rates increases
- 19 per cent highlighted the need to invest in core infrastructure.

The feedback will be included in the decision-making process. Auckland Council’s Governing Body will consider the final Annual Plan in June, with the plan to be implemented for the financial year beginning July 1.
