Positive Vision and Practical Action
For nearly twenty years, Grey Lynn 2030 has been a driving force for environmental action, nurturing a resilient and sustainable community.
What once seemed distant - the year 2030, is now five years away.
Our efforts are dedicated to both adapting to the realities of climate change and locally acting to lower our emissions.
Meet Our Community:
The heart of our work lies within Waitemata - Inner West Auckland– Grey Lynn., Westmere, Arch Hill and Ponsonby.
Grey Lynn 2030, started in 2008 as a local Transition Town.
Over nearly 20 years our focus groups have been focussed on environmental mitigation and now adaptation to climate change.
There have been 20+ focus groups active during that time.
For a core community of around 11,000 the reach of Grey Lynn 2030 means many locals have been involved in one or often more than one project over that time.
People of Grey Lynn
We want to shine a spotlight on the people who volunteer to make our community thrive.
We celebrate Carol Gunn – a person who gives much to our community.

"Never doubt that a small group of thoughtful, committed citizens can change the world; it's the only thing that ever has."
Margaret Mead
