Positive Vision, Practical Action

A driving force for environmental action in Grey Lynn for nearly two decades. We've been nurturing a resilient and sustainable community through Grey Lynn 2030.

Now, with 2030 just four years on the horizon, our work is more critical than ever. We are actively adapting to the challenges of climate change while taking tangible local steps to lower our emissions.

The heart of our community-led work exists within Waitematā, the inner-west Auckland neighbourhoods of Grey Lynn, Westmere, Arch Hill, and Ponsonby.

Grey Lynn 2030 was established in 2008 as our local response to the international Transition Town movement.

Grey Lynn Community Volunteers

Our community is built on the generosity of individuals who volunteer their time and talents.

We're highlighting the kind people who make the Inner West an excellent place to live.

Join us in celebrating Carol Gunn, a generous volunteer whose dedication makes a real difference in our community.

Carol Gunn - 2025

"Never doubt that a small group of thoughtful, committed citizens can change the world; it's the only thing that ever has."

Margaret Mead
