Local Alcohol Policy: Grant has been a prominent voice in discussions surrounding Auckland’s Local Alcohol Policy, advocating for measures like reduced trading hours for off-licences and a freeze on new liquor store licences in areas with high alcohol-related harm. He views these changes as crucial for community well-being and has highlighted the negative impact of excessive alcohol availability.

Climate Change Action: Through his involvement with Lawyers for Climate Action., Grant actively participates in legal efforts to push for stronger climate change policies in New Zealand. This includes working with the student led Equal Justice Project making submissions on government decisions.

Musician: Grant regularly appears as a member of a band who play on alternate Sunday mornings at the Grey Lynn Farmers’ Market.

Grant combines his legal expertise with a strong commitment to community issues, particularly in the areas of alcohol harm reduction and climate action.

He is a lawyer, advocate, musician, and active participant in discussions shaping local and national policies.

We are lucky to have Grant as the Chair of Grey Lynn 2030 Trust
