Grey Lynn 2030 Car Boot Market

Next Market Dates

The Grey Lynn 2030 Car Boot Market runs on the last Sunday of the Month.

Background

In August 2012, Grey Lynn 2030 started another community project – The Car Boot Market.  It is held on the Last Sunday of the Month in the Grey Lynn RSC car park at 1 Francis Street, The market is a place for anyone who wants to to sell, swap or just give things away that they no longer need.

The market is for second hand items only – no new stuff as we think there is already enough stuff on our planet!

Our monthly Car Boot Market is a great local alternative to running your own  garage sale, no advertising necessary (we take care of that), no strangers descending on your home and no need for the hassles with Trade Me. You can sell from a table, your car boot or from the ground (bring a mat, bring a table, bring a way to hang and display clothes).

One price only  – $20 per site

The proceeds go to support our community project and costs of running Grey Lynn 2030 and advertising the car boot market. We spend lots on Facebook advertising. Our new project is RePurpose – we are now working with Auckland Council to promote Upcycling

A big shout out to the Grey Lynn RSC for the generous use of their car park for our Car Boot Sale. By the way, the RSC is a great place for an easy meal or a place to meet casually with friends.

Booking a Spot

If you are interested in taking a stall please contact us and we will give you all the details you need.

If you are interested in taking a stall, please contact Florence Boyd on 027 260 4564 or email her on florenceboydnz@gmail.com

The market opens for the stall holders at 7.30 a.m and to shoppers from 8.30 am. It runs until 11.30. We need to clear the Car Park for the RSC members who want their car space back.

To be sure you get a space please PRE BOOK  and PAY IN ADVANCE for your spot. If you turn up on the day you can not be guaranteed a space.

We are taking bookings now for the next market

Publicity

We are on Facebook http://www.facebook.com/GreyLynn2030CarBootMarket

We would appreciate if you could help us publicise the market by putting our poster up around your community, sharing on Facebook or even better telling and bringing your friends.

Some people have asked if they can sell food at the market. A few bits and pieces are fine, or kids selling a few things but not a whole stall of food . If you want to sell  food, best to sell it at our local Grey Lynn Farmer’s Market . The Farmer’s Market is happening at the same time as the Car Boot Market, just up the road.

Re coffee – We want to support our local West Lynn cafes. There is no shortage of places to get great coffee in Grey Lynn!

We are looking for our stall holders (booties!)  to be those who are selling a few of their own things not professional market sellers.
